Apprentices driving the future of EVS
AS is the reality with many sectors now, apprentices are essential to the future of Endurance. As a key supplier to many local authorities around the UK, our customers rely on our ability to deliver consistently high customer service and the most reliable vehicles available. To do that, we need to invest in our skills base, stay abreast of and exploit new technologies, and pass on the wealth of experience and industry know-how within our leadership team.
Currently, we have three apprentices in our workshop and two in our accounts team, each at various stages of their development. Every day, they bring fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm to their teams.
Archie (pictured), one of our Trainee Accountants who joined in September, has already felt the impact of the supportive environment at Endurance. “The entire team has been incredibly welcoming and encouraging,” he says. “Although I’m still early in my studies, my favourite part so far has been learning how to support stakeholders using Mendelow’s Matrix, as well as discovering how to measure returns for shareholders.”
Despite being at the start of his journey, Archie is already demonstrating the same ambition and drive we’ve come to expect from all of our apprentices. “I’m excited to add value to the company using what I’ve learned to influence decision-making and contribute to strategies that help Endurance grow further.”
Hands-on experience, close mentoring and tailored training
There is a skill shortage in our sector, so growing our own talent is crucial for our future development. By providing hands-on experience, close mentoring and tailored training, we ensure our apprentices not only develop into highly skilled professionals but ones that are also alive to the needs of our customers.
“Giving our apprentices a wider context of how their role contributes to the Endurance vision is imperative. They are not just invaluable assets today, but the future leaders and innovators who will drive our mission forwards.”
Neil Jeremiah, Endurance Managing Director
